Forensic Astrology is very similar to all other forms of forensics. It is the application of a broad spectrum of sciences to answer questions of interest to a legal system. This may be in relation to a crime or a civil action. In most cases, it concerns the theft of property, the abduction or kidnapping of a person, the murder of a person or animal, the disappearance of any individual and cause of death as it is unknown, undetermined or in question. All of these circumstances involve the legal system on some level and the idea behind Forensic Astrology is an attempt to use Astrology as a means of providing clues and evidence in these cases. The broad spectrum of sciences used in Forensic Astrology is far more complex than the sciences used in simple Astrology. Herein there is used horary and/or locational systems, rulerships and dispositions, arabic parts, natal directions, fixed stars, composite analysis and forward movement/progressions that are otherwise used in separate systems but in Forensic Astrology are used in one. It is a complex, evolving science that involves skills in all levels of Astrological study and practice. Just like other forensics, whereby the investigator looks at fingerprints, blood types, shoe sizes and all other matter of data, Forensic Astrology uses whatever study or practice used in general Astrology that can better magnify the details in a chart. Generally speaking, Forensic Astrology is an outgrowth of the older, more traditional horary charts which were used to identify thieves, locate lost items, predict the outcome of events and determine the fate of runaway kids or soldiers gone to war. This system was developed and worked over time, with talented and dedicated Astrologers adding new dimensions and layers as they used it. The blog, Forensic Astrology, which is the masthead for this site, is written by an Astrologer who has developed her own system, a self devised method which includes all systems necessary to fully investigate the chart as presented. In this method, traditional aspects such as planetary translation of light, void of course, peregrine, combust and collection of light are considered as well as self designed interpretations that include Arabic parts formulas, forward hourly movement and the placement of fixed stars. In fact, there is no exact system that can be called "forensic", it is up to the individual Astrologer to develop a system that renders the best results. The methods used by the Astrologer on the blogger blog is a sort of combination of many. There are books written by other Astrologers on other methods of Forensic Astrology and all of these are legitimate.
This website and the blog are both dedicated to discussing and exploring the use of Astrology in forensic work. Forensics are actually a method of putting together puzzles by gathering evidence. This is not limited to dead persons or homicides and can be used as effectively in burglaries, assaults, rapes and break ins among other crimes. In fact, you can use forensics in day to day life to find solutions to problems or to solve mysteries with or without the use of Astrology or even science. There are systems that investigate just about anything you would like, from fingerprints to lipstick to air samples. And, to be fair, there are as many methods of using Astrology in forensic work as there are psychics and other investigators using various methods of their own. The field is truly wide open and almost anyone is free to invent or devise their own methods of investigation; in fact, many traditional systems fall short and beg for revision. If you have an idea of how to use Astrology or any other form of investigation in forensics, then the world would welcome that. There is no shortage of misfortune and mystery. If you can offer even the smallest light in the darkness, it is well worth it. Fear is the only thing that holds people back.. and truly there is nothing to fear.
There is no shortage of skeptics and detractors when it comes to Astrology but there is also no shortage of phonies and tricksters looking for an easy buck. One needs the other in order for things to even out. Dedicated students will pass all of this along the road but keep going. Astrology is truly a lifelong study and a lifestyle change for anyone who plans to really investigate it. Like other complicated studies, it will dominate your thinking or you won't get far with it. The purpose of this site, as well as the blogs and forums, is to promote further study and work in Astrology among people who care. This site is not intended to solve crimes or interfere with Law Enforcement. We do not propose to have the answers or to insinuate any special insights or information. We don't have any facts and cannot testify to anything in court. The purpose of the site and the blogs is to further the study of Astrology in these cases and if there are some good leads there, then they are to be treated as you would any other lead. It may or may not be correct. And, with this disclaimer, we must also take no credit if cases are solved or not, or if the analysis is accurate or not. The Astrologer would like to be right all the time but reality intervenes. It is just not possible. However, if something good does come out of all of this, we won't complain.
